Vegan Caramel Sauce: Recipe Video

You Might Like These ...

This is a vegan and refined sugar-free recipe to make a caramel sauce. The recipe uses coconut sugar and coconut milk and is surprisingly easy. Maybe if you can’t find coconut sugar, you can use brown sugar.

So, what all we need to make this vegan caramel sauce? Start with water and sugar (coconut or brown), and heat them together. Once the sugar is dissolved, and the liquid starts to boil, add coconut milk, vanilla extract, and a little salt. Keep heating and stirring until you get the desired consistency of the sauce.

Actually, that is all there is to it. Take it off the stove and let it cool down, and your vegan caramel sauce will be ready. As explained in the recipe video, the sauce can be thickened by heating for longer and diluted if needed by adding more water and heating again.

Remember that the sauce will thicken a bit once it cools down. That means the heating has to stop a little before we get the desired consistency.

The color of the sauce will be darker or lighter depending on the type of sugar used. For example, if you use refined white sugar, the sauce will be light brown in color.

This is a great vegan recipe. I can’t wait to try it.
