How do you make a vegan slider healthy and yet very tasty? It is not actually difficult because this is what this recipe video shows us. You will learn to make falafel sliders and learn three other recipes that can be independently used in many ways.
You are making falafel patties that have a unique ingredient – sun-dried tomatoes. Then you are making a tahini sauce made from tahini paste, garlic, lime juice, salt, and water. And lastly, a great avocado hummus. Wow!
It is all vegan, provided you find vegan slider buns too. I hope that does not prove to be difficult.
If you have seen a falafel recipe earlier, this one will seem familiar. Because falafel here is shaped like slider patties, shallow frying them in a non-stick pan is ideal. It helps save on oil, and the patties come out really crispy.
The falafel mix comprises canned chickpeas, chopped onion, sun-dried tomato, garlic, fresh parsley, salt, cumin powder, coriander powder, and olive oil. Blend it all in a food processor up to a coarse consistency.
Shape the patties as you want them and shallow fry.
The tahini sauce is even easier. Store-bought tahini paste, water, salt, lemon juice, and garlic. Put everything in a blender. After a minute or so, the sauce will be ready.
The third recipe is avocado hummus which is regular hummus made in a food processor with avocado.
And that gives you everything you need to assemble your sliders. You may like to add some sliced tomatoes.
Wow. This sure is going to be a healthy snack. One extra tip, if you don’t want to buy sun-dried tomatoes at a store, you can make them at home in your oven. You will find the recipe on YouTube.
