Easy Vegan Mug Cake In Microwave: Recipe Video

What is better than a vegan mug cake? A vegan mug cake that can be baked in a microwave oven within a couple of minutes! Don’t believe it? You will, once you see this video.

Now make a yummy chocolate-peanut butter vegan mug cake in your microwave with a small number of ingredients that are easy to find. It is so simple that it seems almost impossible. But no, it is possible.

Here’s what you will need: Whole wheat flour, cocoa powder, baking soda or baking powder, sugar, vanilla essence, vegan milk, peanut butter, and cocoa or cacao nibs.

Mix everything and transfer to a ceramic mug. You can also mix it all directly in the mug. The filled mug then goes into a microwave on high for about a minute or so.

That is it. Your quick and easy vegan mug cake is ready to enjoy.

A few extra thoughts. The vegan milk used in the recipe can be any vegan milk, although soy milk is used in this recipe. It can even be sweetened milk because the cake is going to be sweet anyway.

One can add some broken nuts, such as almonds or peanuts. It will add to the flavor as well as the nutritional value.

The recipe suggests using either baking soda or baking powder, but I guess the cake may not rise well if baking powder is used, but we need to try it to know for sure. To be safe, I would use baking soda.

The actual baking time in the microwave will depend on how powerful your oven is. It may be a minute or two minutes even, and hence, it will take some trial and error to get a perfect cake.
