Authentic Coconut Chutney Recipe Video

If you want to make coconut chutney the authentic way, you have come to the right place. Watch this video from VahChef and learn. It is easy, provided you can assemble all the ingredients. There are two types of ingredients to make authentic coconut chutney: the ingredients you grind and the ingredients used for tempering.

The stuff you put in a grinder, food processor, or blender is freshly grated coconut, ginger, green chilies, roasted chana dal, cashew nuts, tamarind, coriander leaves, cumin seeds, some water, and salt. Grind everything to a fine paste and keep it aside.

Prepare the tempering by heating some oil and adding mustard seeds, cumin seeds, whole dry red chilies, split urad dal, asafoetida (very little or avoid), and fresh curry leaves. When the ingredients begin to splutter, pour everything over the coconut paste.

That is it. Coconut chutney is ready to be enjoyed with South Indian breakfast specialties such as dosa, idli, pesarattu, medu vada, etc.
