Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay (Hell’s Kitchen fame) visits Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev’s retreat – Isha Yoga Center – in the Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu (India) and decides to spend two full days without eating meat. This video shows chef Ramsay’s struggle with living on just vegetarian food.
The video shows Sadhguru himself picking up chef Ramsay on a fast motorbike and the two of them riding towards the Isha Center. At the retreat, chef Ramsay tells Sadhguru that he is both excited and nervous because he has never lived two days without eating meat.
Sadhguru tells chef Ramsay that the human body is designed for only vegetarian food, and it can digest vegetarian food effortlessly. Thus eating vegetarian food creates a chemistry of blissfulness in the body, and consequently, one can be blissful all the time.
Sadhguru then takes his guest to the retreat kitchen, where vegetarian food is being cooked for 7000 devotees. Chef Ramsay finds the kitchen very peaceful despite the huge amount of food being cooked. Sadhguru responds by jokingly calling his kitchen “heaven’s kitchen,” as opposed to the “Hell’s Kitchen” of chef Ramsay.
The next day, chef Ramsay takes a dip in a well on the Ashram grounds and later goes for breakfast, where Sadhguru himself cooks Masala Dosa for chef Ramsay. This breakfast sitting results in a nice discussion on vegetarian food between the chef and Sadhguru.
Sadhguru suggests that chef Ramsay should start eating vegetarian food at least one day a week for his health to improve. Chef Ramsay appears unconvinced.
